NF/EEA – Czech-Icelandic research group on Policy and Management of Natural Resources and Renewable Energy Sources
The faculty of Natural Resource Sciences of the University of Akureyri (UNAK) will host the experts from the Institute for Sustainable Business of UEP and experts from CRUSUS for (i) presenting seminars on policy and management of natural resources and renewable energy sources for researchers of UNAK and students of UNAK; (ii) to learn on the topics, approach and methodology of research projects currently undertaken at UNAK; (iii) manage initial talks to strengthen future cooperation between UEP and UNAK; and (iv) to learn about renewable energy sources and water resources in Iceland and also on the environmental impacts of climate change in Arctic environment. An international workshop on policy and management of natural resources and renewable energy sources will be organized in the premises of UEP. Seminars will be presented by invited experts from UNAK, by experts of ISB/UEP and by experts and professionals from other organizations based in the Czech Republic. A third day of workshop will be dedicated to a field trip to the village of Kněžice near Nymburk that is becoming energy independent by producing both electricity and heat from biomass.
